Hi,
Should i be concerned that my degus dont really like there nest box and that they prefer to sleep on the wooden shelf in a goo pile than there hammock...
They have put loads of stuff in there hammock tissue, cardboard straw etc but i never catch them in it lol ;D

Degus sleep where they want ;D and there is nothing you can do about it You are also likely to see in the future that they suddenly stop to sleep in one place and start do so in another that suddenly takes their fancy. Nothing at all to be concerned about.

My boys took to sleeping in the hay rack for a while. Then the food bowl... and all sorts of other odd places

Mine love perching on the smallest ledge teetering away, or at the edge of the big lshelves with their face and paws over the barrier (that I have to stop the bedding from the ledge from falling off)... looks very uncomfortable! The wheel is another favourite until one of them decides they want to run in it and the other doesn't.

I think at least one of mine has been in all of the places mentioned above at one time or another . Flying saucer...check, teetering on edge of shelf...check, hay rack...check, on top of 'bed box'...check. So yeah, basically anywhere except where they are 'supposed' to sleep. SO you need not worry in the slightest ;D

The only time mine sleep in a nest box is when they have babies. Mine sometimes sleep in a hammock (they particularly like the double decker ones so they have a 'roof'). Quite often they just pile up anywhere they happen to be, LOL

Scrat used to sleep on a very thin branch. He now sleeps in a repurposed tea cosy.
