I have cleaned my cages with Johnson's Clean and Safe Disinfectant for years. I ran out one day and asked the boyfriend to buy me a bottle on his way home from work. Naturally assuming he knew what brand I used and would get that one. I will admit I’m loyalist, I stick with brands I know and trust. He came home with Bob Martin Pet Disinfectant and I was dubious because it had a picture of a cat and dog on the front of it, I thought it would be too strong for smaller animals. My boy friends justification was that it said it was suitable for hutches, and I assume it was the cheaper option. A cage and a Hutch are not the same thing! And animals that live in hutches are bigger. Then again a cage has more ventilation. So I cleaned the cage with it, and it certainly smelt stronger and of course the cage felt cleaner. When I put the goo's back in they didn't seem bothered, no visible signs of a reaction to the new disinfectant. It’s been a week now and they all seem to be fine Has anyone else used this brand?

Bob Martin, my little friend cage disinfectant? I use this one. It is cheap! lol. I use this once a month and use white vinegar and water the rest of the time. The one I use has little picture of a bunny and hamster on the front.... and it's bright blue!

I use the same one as Amie, only to clean things down thoroughly once a month or so. Otherwise I use white vinegar and water.
