One of my degus seems to be sneezing quite a bit. The reason I'm worried is because my first degu was sneezing and her face got puffy and then she was ill and had pneumonia and died But all this happened in about 24 hours. Cleo (current degu) has been sneezing for quite a few days, and she seems 100% fine in her self.. still biting away at the spring cos she knows it's the way to get out of the cage! Lol! Anyone have this? Could it be that her body doesn't like one of the treats she has? Too many treats? The weather? Don't want a wasted trip to the vets!! Thanks guys x

Have you checked it's not the bedding, that can have an effect, have you changed it to something else recently. Is she a new Degu? if so it's possible there's something in the bedding irrtating her. Just a suggestion. It's possible it's just an allergy from the bedding..
not to worry you but it can also be like a nervous twitch sort of thing which can come from inbreeding. One of my Degus sneezes all the time despite being healthy, vet check ups, also changed bedding to every kind imaginable and he still sneezes. Sometimes this can be another reason. Other signs of inbreeding can be a V shaped gap in their teeth usually the bottom. Not saying this is the case with your Degu but it's something to check.
If she seems fine and she looks normal and healthy apart from the sneezing, could be just the bedding but if not maybe a vet trip is needed just for a checkup..
what kind of treats are you giving her?, also does she live with another Degu...
i'm sure she'll be fine and hopefully we can sort little Cleo's sneezing out....

I would also recommend checking the bedding in the first instance. A baby who I looked after for a while sneezed until I changed the bedding. Also please check for draughts as this can cause this symtom.

They are both new, although had Daisy a week longer. Cleo has only started sneezing the last week or so, possibly less. She's also got a bit fatter (she used to be smaller than Daisy, but now they're the same size!) so maybe she's just grown!? Lol. She's very cheeky and always takes a treat off us whereas Daisy doesn't. Maybe she's had too many treats recently (just trying to get them to like us!) so we've cut down on treats. For treats she has nuts, seeds, walnuts (in shell, so she chewed through it then got the nut in about 2 days!), and naturals treats (which have no sugar or anything in). In the bed they have timothy hay from pets at home, and toilet roll tubes which they chew then drag them there, and wood shavings on the floor. It's been fine until now. Will see how she goes

Just seen other replies.. she's had the hay and wood shavings since she's been in there which is 3 weeks and she hasn't been sneezing that long.
They like to nibble on the hay, so what else could I put in to try? Soft bedding like hamsters have? x

No, you should avoid that bedding. Are you able to hold her at all? Perhaps you could see if you can get a listen to her breathing and see if you can tell if there is any congestion, in either the sinus or the chest?

Yeah I can hold her but she doesn't sit still she just wants to walk/run all over me! No idea how I'd listen to her breathing.. I could try though!
She has suddenly gotten fat! But last night we gave them fresh food and whilst Daisy sniffed it and went away, Cleo took 4 nuggets and ate them then hid another 2!! Greedy!
