Would love to give a few degus a new home, my daughter is in love with these adorable animals and we have spend the past year researching and preparing her for some. The time has finally come but wanted to post on here first in case there were any needing new homes before we buy from breeder. We live in Gosport, Hampshire and would travel although perfer local so that we can easily connect with previous owner etc. Hope someone can help Lynn

Hi there, it seems your qestion has somehow gone unnoticed. A belated welcome to the forum!
What do you have in mind for your cage? Have you seen any that interest you? Would you consider building your own cage? If you give us a bit more information, we can better give you advice and point you to useful threads here or to other websites.

Welcome to the forum, please forgive me for not replying. Thank you, Fred for initiating things here. Fred's questions will provide us with helpful information once you have answered. Do you need advise on what is best for degus, size needed to successfully house four (eventually) adult degus, contents for a cage . . . what all is involved in your request for help.

It's ok we have both cage and baby goo's made. We bought a secondhand parrot cage (with metal base) and have cleaned and built inside it. We have also had to wrap a bit of chicken wire around the cage for the time being as the goo's were so tiny when we got home that they could get through the gaps!!! lol. We did a cage size check on a few of the calculators to make sure we had the right size but i still feel that when they get bigger they made need extra size. (Probably me just being over sensitive). That won't be a problem though as the top of the parrot cage opens so we can always take the top off and add another cage to the top (An idea used by many members here i have noticed).

Sounds like you're thinking of your goos well! Congratulations on your new babies!
Any chance of some pics of them and your cage? Sounds like you've done well with the cage.
