Yes, the copper cherry is an ornamental garden tree, rather than a wild/ native tree.

I know Nigella hispanica seed seems to be safe what about the flowers and leaves?

Nigella is part of the ranunculus family so contains protoanemonin, which is poisonous. Fortunately, it is a volatile substance so should be safe dried, but I'm not sure if some drying methods would be better at removing the toxin than others. Air drying in sun makes it safe, my book states that buttercups are safe in hay. On the subject of buttercups, I've tried creeping buttercups sun dried as they are quite abundant, but my goos weren't very keen.

Haha, I have a different concern - my boyfriend is looking at me suspiciously and sniffing all his food very carefully before eating!

If I go and take photos of a bunch of things, will someone ID them for me re. if they're suitable to feed? I should know what they all are, but my memory seems to have died over the winter.

7 could be the lower leaves of garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata). The smell is distinctive and once it throws up a flower spike, the whole plant is distinctive. It's degu safe. 8 could be wood avens (Geum urbanum) Not sure that 2 is ground ivy (Glechoma hederacea), but don't know what else it is. 5 could be anything including cow parsley or hemlock, you need to be careful with ID on this, I use the groove in the leaf stem and the smell as a guide for safety (hemlock smells bad), see www.torrens.org.uk/FFF/plants/A/Anthriscus/Sylvestris.htmlSpeedwells (Veronica) are safe. Degupedia says hawkweeds are safe and they don't feature in my poison plant book. The ones listed on Degupedia are different species but apparently closely related, these are the ones listed specifically Orange Hawkweed ( Hieracum aurantiacum ),Hawkweed ( Hieracum pilosella ),Mean hawkweed ( Hieracum vulgatum). Re 7, can't find anything on Barbarea vulgaris, it's not listed in the poison plant book, I do know that hairy bittercress (Cardamine hirsuta) is safe. Can't find any safety info on Geum. @degusilove it should be safe even if they don't like it, there shouldn't be enough transference for it to be a problem for them.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll look those ones up to try and get a proper ID I'll also try and get some better photos of some of them. The problem is that there's also a great deal of nettles around lol. #5 I suspected as being hemlock myself, but I've never come across it in person before, only texts/ photos. I'll probably be reporting it.

I wear thin leather gloves when I'm out collecting, there are always some nettles hiding, and I take secateurs with me.
Would be interested to hear more about the suspected hemlock when you go back, does it have the mousey smell and how purpley blotchy is it? I've never knowingly seen it either.
