Hi Unfortunately today has seen the passing of Pele, a much loved pet of mine and friend of Diego, altho they didn't get on all the time i can tell Diego still misses him. Pele was take to the vet with dihorea on Weds, he had not improved and was very ill so today we decided rather than put him to sleep we would give it one last shot, so he had anesthetic to take x rays and examine him etc, nothing could be found and his breathing get v weak so it was kindest to let him go whilst still under. It is obviously vey sad, even more so as I was under the impression i'd have them both for 8 to 10yrs and feel well and truely robbed as he wasn't even 3. So i was wondering how long people's Degus have lived, and where you got them from. The vet said it can vary alot depending on the breeder, altho the oldest she ever knew of was 6yrs. So Pele was from Pets at Home and was about 2yrs 9months. I will be looking to adopt a new friend for Diego, and be asking advice but will put it under the right message board. Thanks Alex & Diego

So sorry to hear about Pele, it's so sad when there is nothing more you can do for them. I have heard of degus living to 10 but not yet had the pleasure myself as mine are all between 18months and 3. Pleased to hear that Diego will be getting a new friend in the future and wish them both a long and healthy life x

Sorry to here of your loss. :'-( Hope you find Diego a new friend soon. Ronaldo sounds like a good name. I hope to see Buffy and Willow make it to about 6 or 7, but I'm not sure of their current age so not sure how long I'll have them for.
