I'm a trustee for Animal Rescue & Care (ARC) based in Middlesex around the Twickenham and Richmond area, and we currently have two groups of degus looking for new homes.
The first group is of 3 females approximately 14 months old (Alice, Dot & Celia). The girls were bought from a pet shop, and then dumped back outside the pet shop a couple of months later. They were rescued from the pet shop, but handed over to ARC in December 2010 for them to find a permanent home as they were not very friendly and were known to bite. In their current foster home they are getting used to human contact and are gradually trusting the source of their treats!
The second group, of 5, have just arrived with me and are settling in. The young owners knew very little about them and didn't even know their ages or genders. Initial indications are that they are all female, but I do need to confirm this. This group is young, under 1 year, and are more friendly and very keen to see what you've got for them!
Both groups deserve permanent, loving homes with degu lovers.
If anyone can offer them a home, please get in touch with me via email: heleng@animalrescueandcare.org.uk - thank you.
