I think it's common in all degus regardless of their sex, very messy but unavoidable as far as I know. I hope that helps

Ah sorry so they are, I hadn't realised you'd posted in the chinchilla section, forgive me it's early and I should have been paying more attention. I'm sorry but I don't own Chinchilla, however I hope someone else will be along soon to help

I tryed sexing them and the one i think is a female doesent seem too have a gap between the sexual parts like a male should. Im pretty sure its female as its not very frinedly never has been i read somewhere female are less frinedly than males plus im quite sure a male cant spray with that much distance in it. Pets at home have cost me loads never buy anything from there i got 2 males from there one had something wrong with it and died after a year and a bit so i get anougher male( from a breeder) and it keeps trying to shag my other one and now my other one has started spraying at him it all adds up hope im wrong becuase the whole reason why i got anougher male so i dident have to get my male done lol ironic

Oh dear, P@H strikes again, I'm no expert on chins I'm afraid, but I got a pair of degus from them and they gave me a boy and a girl and now i have pups, from the info I've read on the internet about them, it seems the only animal they're competent in sexing is a syrian hamster, which, ironically is the only animal they sell singularly, they give everything else in at least a pair, so it would not surprise me if P@H messed up one bit.
I would advise if they have given you girls and called them boys, and now u've introduced another male and the boy they sold you is pregnant, ring the customer service helpline off their website to complain, I did this and they gave me roughly £150 worth of free stuff. You have to tell them you fully expect a new cage etc etc though and be cheeky! They don't reply to emails and letters in my experience.
Hopes thi helps, sorry I can't help with the sexing question though, but if you can possibly post a pic of ur suspected girls bits then I'm sure someone will be able to help? Esp if their similar to degus in that the male has a gap between the urethral cone and anus, whereas the female doesn't have a gap, or only has a very small gap.

Oh dear! have you got on to P@H? If you make a complaint, you'll more than likely get a cage free of charge so that you can separate them, just in case she isn't pregnant yet, and then maybe get the male neutered while they're separate?
I know P@H are rubbish at sexing everything, but they usually do try hard to put things right when they do get it wrong, if you complain enough, they may even refund you enough money to get him neutered, at the end of the day, you trusted them to be competent in sexing your pets and they let you down, so they should do something about it!
Hope this helps and let us know how you get on! When they missexed my degus I got a free cage, a bag of degu nuggets, a nest box, a large bale of hay, a large bag of carefresh and a water bottle, so it's worth speaking up! As I said though, they only really respond to phone calls.
