Thanks Nicky, you're right I don't get to come on here very much usually and as there are no notifications of messages I may miss message. The youngest females would need to be adopted with their mother as that is the group they are currently in. They won't be off pregnancy watch until next year at the earliest as they only arrived last week and we cannot be sure when the male got in their cage as it was at the previous home. There are however a group of 3 females that are around 2.5 years. They have been more handled than those that have just come in. We are in West Wales in the south of the county of Ceredigion in Rhydowen. There is information on our website as well: www.rhydowenrodentrefuge.webs.com

We are in Norfolk, but would like to adopt two male degus as we have recently lost one of a pair and the remaining one is lonely! If you have any available, perhaps you can let us know thanks

Hi, sorry the forums don't send an email of new replies and I don't get a chance to come on the forums very often. We have 9 males degus ready for homing at the moment and 3 females (4 more ready next year as they are on pregnancy watch). Please see our website for more details about us and the animals for homing: www.rhydowenrodentrefuge.webs.com

Sorry due to ill health I am still behind on emails. However, I think (if I recognise the username) we have now got things sorted and a group are reserved for cazinwales after she passed a homecheck with flying colours We've recently taken in a lone boy that was handed in to a vets as a stray. Fingers crossed one of the veterinary nurses will be adopting him and a companion after introductions. We still have several groups; 5 boys, 4 girls, 4 boys hopefully soon to be 5 (undergoing intros with the stray lad) 3 females (reserved for cazinwales)

I would be willing to take 3 boys off you or even a pregnant female if you have one however I have a couple of problems which is understandable if you cannot help me. I would not be able to travel too far. Also it would be late February early March. If you're okay for all of that then count me in Hope to hear from you soon, Also if you are interest and do not want to discuss this on the forum please send an e-mail to : bradzy_c@hotmail.com (not my account e-mail) Much obliged, Brad EDIT Just googled where you are. You are pretty far I live in Manchester, if they can travel on a train with me for around 6 hours then I would be happy with this, however if not, then we would have to discuss some other way of getting them to Manchester, or leaving it altogether.

Hi Brad, Yes we are a fair way away from each other. We have homed to Manchester before but the adopters travelled to collect the animals. I can ask around to see if we know of anyone travelling in your direction but from experience transport up through mid and north Wales is notoriously tricky as it's not good roads. We can try though. We have an adoption questionnaire we ask to be completed that can be found on the website here: rhydowenrodentrefuge.webs.com/adoptionquestionnaire.htm so would be very grateful if you could fill that in. It's quite comprehensive but not meant to scare anyone off, just to try to get to know you and the home you are offering the animals. I will email as well as the forums don't give notification of replies so you may miss this reply, as I missed yours. Best wishes, Clare

Hi Paul,
We still have a group of 5 males looking for a home, preferably as a group but could be as a trio and a pair. I have also replied via email but for the benefit of others we don't have a set adoption fee but do ask for a donation. In the past people have given an average of between £5-£10 per animal.
Thanks, Clare
ETA: ***Rescues please be aware that Paul (smithy2k4) is looking for rescue degus with a view to breeding with his females***

We currently have five male degus living as a group and three female degus living as a trio looking for homes. Will home in pairs, trios of their current groups. Although we are in west Wales we will rehome to other areas as long as homes can be checked and transport arranged as we find degus travel well.

Still a group of 5 males and a trio of females looking for their new homes. May also have a lone female in soon. She will be joining the trio after introductions.
