ha ha, iv only had them a day and they seem to like to come to my hand, they will climb onto my hand out of the cage but as i have 3 its difficult not to let the one on your hand run away while stopping the other 2 from comeing out too!
it took me and my flat mate ages to catch one earlier! in the end she had to ut a box over him and slide the lid over, like you would with a spider! but i know this is not a good way to do it again. so can someone please tell me how on earth you catch them if they do escape?!
( i tried bribing with shredded weat but they grab it and run away, im not quick enough to catch them and am woried about hurting them or them turning and biting me)

A tube is usually the best option! I know a lot of people on here catch their goos this way. I use carpet tube goos love tubes so will probably run in, then quickly put your hands over both ends (just careful as they may nibble you!)

I use there exercise ball . I just put it on the floor with the lid off and they jump straight in. ;-)

I just catch them now, although that's usually when they're on top of the cage where they can't go very far. when i'm getting them back in from a play time, i usually get them to get some shredded wheat, and then when they're eating, if theyre not still on my hand, then i just grab them and put them back in. are your degus on a level, (high up) because if they are high up, then i don't think that they jump down and don't escape, it's worked for me! although, my two (especially poppadom) can climb on the top of the cage when it's open! so annoying! ill give it a go when my housmate is home so there are 2 of us versus the 3 of them! lol the cage is on a coffee table so not sure its high enough to scare them. i shall soon find out, as soon as im feeling brave and energetic! they seem to come and sit on my hand without bribing inside the cage so i am hopefull bribary out of the cage will work! at the moment diego (i can now just about distinguish them!) is busy moving the shredded tissue i gave them from their new nest bos to the exposed top shelf in the cage! the other 2 seem a bit cinfused by this but are letting him get on with it, just inspecting his new bed now and then! i think maybe they want to sleep high up so ill have to find a new bos small enough to fit on the shelf!
what have i let myself in for?! lol complete madness!
thanks for the advice :-)

I do the same as starbizarre, it works every time and takes only a couple of seconds before they're in the tube which you can safely carry them back over.
I've found it is very hard to hold a degu in your hands due to their nature and their sharp little feet!
