Hi this is my first post and so I just wanted to say Hi first.
I recently had to have one of my girls put to sleep. I still have three of her sisters left, but as they are all the same age I am really worried about having one degu left on her own, something that happened with a rat I used to have. Am I mad thinking about introducing a few more females into the group? I certainly have more than enough room in the cage but would it stress them out too much? My worry is ending up with two cages of Degu's as I just don't have the room.

What are their ages? I think that if you were to get two baby females . . . making certain they ARE female ( wink ) . . . doing introductions right now is not a bad thing. Females seem to be easier, but still need to have time and patience with introductions. I expect it would go well for you.

My girls are all 7. I have just been offered two females that are just 1. I have plently of patience and not expecting it to go smoothly. I would love to introduce new company but if it is going to stress my girls out too much, then I will refuse the new Degu's.

Well . . . I don't know if it will stress them out or not. That is difficult to guess really. I tend to lean toward taking a try at it though . . . so long as you are fully happy and desiring to have the extended time owning degus that will come with owning younger goos again.
