Well... I've now got a new female - Ice. And she is tiny.. just about 8 weeks so I'm told... she doesn't seem to have a tuft on her tail.. I don't know if that's still to come or not.. I will double check her gender at some point.. but she's too skittish at the moment.
Mali and Bu still aren't living together but I'm now wondering how to do this...
Is it possible that they could mother Ice being very young (she's really teeny compared to them!) Would you put all three in together? I won't put them all together in a cage for a while yet - I'll wait until I have a JH cage I think.

Hi Rach, they may be ok all together with a bit of work and patience. I've just began to introduce an adult female to my adult and 8 wk old females (mum and daughter) and she is fine with the baby, not bullying her or anything. I suppose it depends on the temperament of the individual degus but if they both want to mother her it will all work out fine x

That's what I was thinking. Bu is a lot more relaxed and I think if nothing else that she could bond with Ice.. Mali can be a little beep at times but with supervision it should be ok. At least I can't accidentally mix the three of them up I guess!
I'll try them tomorrow morning and see how I get on (and take some pictures to show you all!!)

Not guilty I would have considered naming her Coke, but my best friend's land snails are called vodka and coke..
