Its all down to how you want to go about it to be honest, there's loads of different methods in this section try a few of them out.

That's a pretty good question!! I think that if you do them in small amounts, a bit at a time, it will make it a whole lot easier on you if you need to dive in and separate a fight. 8 on two would make it quite a tangle to separate them. Also, not knowing how distinguishable your goos are from one another, it might be an idea to put an identifying mark on the two degus. I don't know if it will be problematic or not, but I'm thinking that even a very tiny spot of something like Liquid Paper just on the back of the head would help the two to stand out for you. Maybe the two new ones to two of the eight? Or maybe one new and one of the eight? There is no defined formula. It's sort of a try and see thing, and you feel your way along. Sometimes we come up with great ideas in the midst of trying something else. Whatever you do, make sure you choose a neutral area, that isn't marked as territory by anyone. Often a bathroom is a good location, as you can shut the door and it is a smaller space that is easier to monitor and control.
Good luck with everything!

And maybe a thick pair of gloves just incase good luck with the introductions. Would be the biggest one I have heard of someone doing.
