Can Degus be toilet trained like rats or rabbits?
Mine seem to wee on their wooden shelves and I wondered if I could train them to go in a litter tray?

I've heard that they can be. I haven't trained my goos, but I know that it has been done by others.

I know they can be with taught where to do their droppings but I'm not too sure about weeing as they do that to scent mark.

I have two sandbaths..
basically i have there one for every few days where they can roll and play in and i have another one where they use as a toilet. it gets changed every day and it keeps the cage cleaner.
and they know which sandbath is the "roll about fun one" becuase its a huge bright green bowl and the toilet one is smallish and white.
dunno if that helps..

Ive got a little dish with hamster potty litter in it that Junior uses. He also uses every other square inch of his cage also tho! Even the hammock!
