from what i've observed, most small animal feeds contain the same ingredients, except for a few vitamins or minerals. my degus actually get rabbit feed, because i've been unable to find any molasses-free guinea or chinchilla feeds in my area. they really like the rabbit pellets, and to make sure they're getting all their vitamins, i give them crunchy vitamin treats formulated for guinea pigs. like pigs, degus are naturally vitamin C deficient, so the gp treats have the added vitamin C degus need.
