[glow=red,2,300]inTRODUccingg my new cAGE...[/glow] "Degu spaco" Heyyy guess what?! My new cage is coming! it should be here in about a week! I'm really excited and am going on a spending spree for some new toys and stuff to make some DIY stuff/// HERE IT IS;; Im going to do a few adjustments to it thoughhh.... because the floor is not good fro their lil critter feet i have purchased some lino. flooring. When the cage arrives i will simply get the wire for the floor and put the lino on top and cut away so i can get the EXACT size!! My degus witt not chew this because i have put some lino in their temp. cage and it all seeems GOOOD! ;D Since i am a handy sewer i have also got the materials to make this lil beauty hehe.... no pics so i drew it on paint;;; as you see it is VERY SIMPLE to make and should be great for my girls!! (they love cuddling space HAHA!! anyone else got this cage?? PLEASE can i have some feedback and comments on other ideas... Spanx, jessxx ;D

Very nice, roomy cage with what looks like metal floor levels? That would be wonderful - won't have to worry about your Degus eventally destroying a plastic floor.
I like your Degu tent. You have plenty of room for a wheel or a saucer. My girls love empy shoe boxes fashioned into little houses for them. I also have a corner pile of three large (palm sized)lime stones for them to build nests etc in.

Hey Jessxx, I've ordered the same cage!! Am expecting it by the end of this week. Good idea with the lino, will have to get some. I previously had a cage with the same flooring and it was recommended by my local pet shop to put sandpaper-like card ( the same as they use in the end of budgie cages) on the floor. I then covered that with bedding and hay. Since then I have gotten a new cage without the wire flooring. However now my degus ( male and female who have had 2 litters) need a new cage as second one in bits ,literally, they're taking chunks out of it on a daily basis! Really wanted to get the jungle vine that Rupe mentioned but they no longer have it in our pet shop . Sunshinemeg, is it easy to dismantle to clean? Also, will have to pick it up from the post office sorting office, is it heavy to carry? I know it's a flatpack but should I request assistance from someone a bit taller and stronger that a 5 foot 2 " girl ? (as a nurse am out of a career if i damage my back) Have lots of new toys for them when I get the cage. Promise to post ( or attempt to post) some photos when I l put it together.

Hey again! Cage arrived on doorstep this a.m so no need for assistance with moving it anywhere. Didn't take that long to assemble either. Looks great, my lot love it, it's not as wide as their previous home but it's a bit taller so they're happy. Also a lot lighter, says 10.5 kgs on packaging.Haven't managed to get my hands on any lino just yet, but should have some by weekend. Can't believe it arrived so quickly, top marks to Doghealth crew!!
