Hi my name is Emma, I have just joined this forum becuase I went to the pet shop last week and saw a pair of degu's and was instantly attracted to their cute faces and inquisitive nature. I would like to know if these are a good pet for me I am currently reading 2 books about them and would first like to know if anyone could recommend a good cage for them under 150 pounds.
Thank you
Emma x

I love the martins cages: www.martinscages.com/products/cages/My degus are getting the Martins Ruud cage (Rat) But you would need to make sure to cover the wire floors......... Degus need height more than length in a cage..... Honestly though, I wouldnt buy from a pet shop, irresponsible breeders are the reason the degus are in there, and buying them only supports the irresponsible breeding. You could check out shelters and rescues near you, there may be degus in need there.

That cage is big enough for at least 4/5 rats, so it would be plenty big enough for 2 or 3 degus. I know of a few rat owners who have that cage. I have the wider 'version' of it for my budgies too.
