Hi all been a while. well bassically i bought 2 more males to go with the 2 i already got. they were stressed at the pet shop and no one seemed to want em so i did a deal with the owner. Anywho they were introduced over time no problems until now..... one of em is huge!! had a real good look at it looks like they were females, not males! No bloody wonder they all got on so well! eitherway we have seperated the 2 females (same cage with a partition) is it alright after a few days of the babies bein born to reintroduce the dads? Or will it be weird with 2 males? afraid we cant keep any of these unless i can pile in the overtime at work and buy gigantic cages as we will probably have bout 20! eitherway any advice would be helpfull as we never really expected the last pregnancy so never planned for it.

Hi garrot its best to keep all the degus together until the birth, then remove the males, then put them back after a day or two. Read more on The Basics of Babys at the top of the breeding and baby care unit. Happy parenting!

garrot21 - if you are looking for homes, I live near Nottingham (not far from Mansfield) and would love a couple of baby girls!! I have plenty of room as I have a huge cage and only 3 degus atm.
Hope all goes well.
