For those of you who have read my previous threads about my 3 new degus, horrid allergies, 11 pups, and the subsequent trip to the shelter; the saga continues! The shelter has done a fabulous job of rehoming almost all of the degus. They held on to the two females that had the pups, after it was discovered that my beloved "quite possibly retarded"degu, Pisco, was a small, deformed, male. As it turns out, Pisco, was not too retarded to breed! He is the clueless father of at least 7 pups, born May 1st. So- A warning to those hapless people who discover that thier new pets are pregnant: Be positively sure that all of your degus are indeed same sex, and bear in mind that females are very fertile right after giving birth. My latest batch of "grandchildren"can be viewed at www.chaoticexotics.ca . FOr anyone who is interested they are in Western Canada.
