I have a single male degu and I’m looking for another male to bond him with since his mate passed away. Near Grants Pass Oregon, in USA. Willing to drive wherever needed.

Hi, American degu owners are few and far between on this board, sad to say. You might try contacting your closest small animal rescue (guinea pigs and hamsters and rats -type place) and ask them if they know of any place that has degus or has had them in the past. Then follow the trail and keep asking until you hopefully find some. Facebook has this group--Degu Re-homing Group www.facebook.com/groups/207266113381337/ Don't know if it's useful as it's a private group you have to join to see the posts, but maybe.... Also, Chinchilla rescue places are more likely to take in a degu also, there's Little Critter Crew - Small Animal Rescue, Eugene, OR who might help you find one...? Good luck, and when you do find one, maybe consider adopting two so that if one passes, you're not in the same situation again so soon. |
