recently i had a degu pass away. i had two degus so now Kirby is left alone. kirby has a tendency to over groom himself when he’s stressed out. and i’ve noticed his stress levels have gone up. which is understandable because he’s alone for the first time in his life. he’s eating, drinking, playing, etc normally but he has bursts of stress behavior. i’m looking to adopt another degu but it is extremely rare to find degus available near me. the pet expo is going to be in town next month and i’m hoping i can adopt one when i go since some out of state breeders might be going. i was hoping there may be a way i could help kirby feel a little less stressed in the meantime. thanks always!!!

It's always hard to watch our fluffies suffer!
If you don't have one already, a heat pad can offer some comfort. Also, see if you can find a degu-sized cuddly toy. I have dog toy 15cm tall on a shelf in the cage for Sneakygoo. He sometimes likes to sit next to it when he's missing his brother. If you can't find a toy, a bundle of socks will do the same thing.
How much time do you spend away from Kirby during the day?

As Savvy says! A lot of people choose a snugglesafe. You just need to put it in the microwave. The petnap she gave a link for is mains connected, but make sure you get the safeguard version - it has a metal protector over the cable.
If you can't find any where you live, try heating raw rice or cherry stones in the microwave, then put them in a flat metal tin that He can lie on. You may need to cover the tin first!
