I have two degus and i’ve had them for about a year now. they’ve always had fleece liners with bedding boxes for digging and such. recently, one of them started to rip up the liner. i have four fleeces i use on rotation. and of course the expensive ones are the only ones he has interest in tearing up. i’ve given him more hay, paper towels (which he loves) and toilet paper roles but nothing has worked to keep him from tearing up the liner. my other degu could care less about the liner and is perfectly content. any tips to get him to stop? i don’t have a cage setup that allows me to use shavings completely so the dig boxes are all i got. help!

Try a fold back clip!

There isn't really much you can do once they are set on destroying something, I'm afraid. You could try strategically weighing it down in his favourite places to attack it or velcro it down with self adhesive velcro, but other than just distraction as Bouncy suggests.
