In the last six months I've opted for a more natural diet for my degus and now give them forage as their primary feed. All of the forage blends I've brought come from Bunny Bistro, which I know is highly recommended here but I've come into some problems...
I found what appeared to be large rocks or solid clumps of dried mud in the Chamomile & Lavender Salad. At the time I just shrugged it off and picked those bits out, but in another batch of the same blend I found multiple pieces of thin plastic, probably from some kind of bag or wrapper. I threw the entire thing away because even if I picked those pieces out I didn't want to risk accidentally feeding my degus plastic. I haven't ordered Chamomile & Lavender Salad again and now try to avoid other forage blends with the same ingredients from Bunny Bistro.
Just today, I found a large dead grasshopper at the bottom of the Herb & Flower Mix. It's not as bad as platic but honestly all of these experiences put together are really putting me off of Bunny Bistro and any other natural forage blends. It's a shame because overall I love the blends and so do my degus but now I'm terrified that I'm going to accidently feed my degus something that could make them seriously ill.

I use Bunny Bistro forage blends quite a bit.
To be honest you will find small stones, mud, feathers, etc in all forage blends no matter where you get them from or what you feed. I've recently found plastic too so I suspect they've had a bad batch.
As all forage is naturally grown, you do have to expect the odd surprise. You could give Bunny Bistro a call to tell them what you've found if its excessive. Their customer service is really good.

I feed Bunny Bistro to mine. There have been the odd bits of mud, but it doesn't bother them. For the truly organic experience, I even came across a snail shell!
Let Bunny Bistro know what you've found. I'm sure they'll be pleased to hear from you so they can take action.
