I have 2 separated degus (male and female) living next to each other, and during playtime, they always do a fun little ritual. They make their happy noises (teeth taktaktak noise), spin around each other and then proceed to wrestle each other for around five minutes, making the same teeth noise in between wrestles. It's really cute and fun to watch so I'm not complaining at all. I recorded today's session but it's over 100mbs so I can't upload it to my usual site. Today also had tail wagging which I heard were signs of wanting to mate? They still just wrestled instead tho. I've never really noticed them trying to mate, and usually Mpala (female) is the one humping Rhaast (male). Is this a regular degu thing? Do your degus have any routines that they do everytime they are out?
P.S. I'll try to find a way to upload the vid for reference

Mine have rituals too. Sausage and Spud used to run around, then spend up to an hour boxing, before Sausage would climb into the shredded paper and fall asleep.
The pups are similar, except Snatcha likes to take up periodic watch by climbing on my shoulder.
If you have a Google account, you can upload videos to YouTube. Just set the video to being unlisted.
