Buddy and Banshee seem to have a scrap about once a month. Usually there's a scratched nose or two then it settles down.
There's not been any FBOD but, this time there's a a little bit of blood around the mouth and blood on the paws (for both parties). I've separated them because I can't be with them for the next couple of hours - but from my understanding, I have to expect some minor scratches and stuff?
They are boxing, tail thumping, teeth grinding and shoving. Sometimes they kick so hard they go flying across the cage and hit the bars.

I had that with Pixie and Dixie, it was just before they divorced for want of a better word.
Can you remind me? How old are they?

11 months
My plans changed and I opened the divider, they're sitting together chittering in a happy way now. Neither want to talk to me or show me their injuries.

It could be teenage hormones then, both want to be the dominant goo, I think you need to keep up the pressure that you are the top degu and let them know where they stand and how much fighting you'll put up with.
Being is breeding season won't be helping much.

My girls escaped today and well.... Apparently the best place in the room is on top of the boys cage. I really hope that didn't spark it.

I had girls that were genuine Hoodini's and regularly found new ways to get out of their cage. There were three that particularly loved to climb to the top of the boys cage. I think it is a natural attraction . . . I wonder if the girls might be in heat? Anyway, I would feel quite confident that the fight today had to do with the girls being perched on top of their cage.

Maybe I will have to move the girls cage away, or set up a playpen so they can't
