Hi, i am pleased to say that the first introduction for my 2 degus went brilliantly, they did not fight at all, there was the odd squeek but they just constantly groomed eachother.
Just one worrying thing is at some points they were both humping eachother in other words trying to mate. Does this normally happen with same sex Degus???
The rspca said they were both males and i did check myself however i am not a pro. To me it looks like they are both males. So is this normal.?
if it is not is it possible for a pregnancy to be that quick? :-/

Hi, yes it´s normal. It´s not a mating behaviour. It´s a dominance thing. The degu that humps the other one wants to show that he is the boss.

All perfectly normal, as the others have said, just a little difficult to explain to young children! We usually went with the idea, the were giving each other 'piggy backs' !!!!!!!!
