Many of you know that I suspect that we have a pregnant little girl . I am so anxious to find out for sure. It's driving me crazy. I am not a patient person! Anyway, Lilly has been sleeping much more than the other 2. Could this be a sign of pregnancy? She isn't getting bigger yet. I don't think she would be due until the end of this month or the beginning of March, so that's not surprising. I would just LOVE to know for sure. Someone give me some hope! She may just have a calmer personality, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Laurie

Mocha slept a lot when she was expecting - more so than she does now so I would say yes. I had no idea what to expect from a Degu and thought she was a boy so it didn't even cross my mind early on....... She used to fall asleep in my hands and sleep for ten minutes or more. I wish she sit for two now!!! She never sleeps in my hands. Ah well at least she is happy and content with her daughter for company. Saturday I was feeding them some pumpkin seeds when Tanzania shoved Mocha out the cage door to get to me! Mocha started up the front of the condo, I caught her just before she crested the top!! I didn't want to have to try to catch her running on the counter top. Any way she squeeked when I picked her up but sat on my shoulder for a few minutes and a couple of seeds before I got close enough for her to hop back into their cage.

Oh and Mocha didn't appear a great deal larger until about a week or two before giving birth.

Hi, there. I remember reading a while back that they are on a similar sleep cycle as we are, only they sleep 20 minutes, awake 40 minutes, like we sleep 8 hours, awake 16 hours. Don't know if it's true or not, but it seems about right.
