That's cool!!
Well! May you have the most amazing success with the face to face, and then again with the actual living together and bonded cage mates forever that follows!!

Think they've had a closer introduction than I'd intended for today! We went out at around 6pm, Liam went upstairs to see them at 9pm and Gizmo and Benji were both out the cage. Benji was sat right next to Derek's cage and everyone has all their fingers, toes, tails and ears intact with both seeming fairly calm about it all. So there's a positive! Gizmo meanwhile was sat under the bed gnawing away at something and they'd ransacked a bag of sunflower seeds Liam is now beating himself up as he must have left the cage door unlocked and thinking what if they've chewed or eaten something toxic to them as he had a few packets of things next to his computer. I don't think they have but guess we're going to be keeping a close eye on them to make sure they're okay. Personally I'm just glad neither of them ended up in the loo (and I'm hoping Liam takes me more seriously when I tell him to put the seat down when he's done incase one of the rodents escapes).

I had a firm rule in my flat when it came to the loo, if you left the seat up, you bathed the cat! Visitors only did it once, lol.

Sounds fairly positive meeting -wise. Hope you don't discover any chew marks on anything dodgy!

What a horrible feeling, coming home and finding critters out, and not knowing for sure that they didn't eat something they shouldn't!! I totally understand Liam's sense of horror and self-judgment. Tell him to remember it wasn't malicious and then to be thankful they are well and OK. I'm so glad that all was peaceful when you found them, and no "pieces" were discovered to make you shriek. I think as Moletteuk does . . . it sounds quite positive!! The best of outcomes, really!

Guys it's official - I've bitten and paid the adoption fee for Derek so he's part of the clan! Merry Christmas, Derek! Also, operation wall of cages is done so all the critters are now downstairs plus Watson is fully healed so since this weekend they have access to the full cage again, dustbath and all Not all good though, things have been a bit hectic and I haven't had the time to start introducing the little furry fiends, Derek and Gizmo have seemed to develop a slight issue with one another through the cage bars although all three of them are currently sat with their backs to each other on the top level of the cages. But look at how happy Derek is to have a bigger cage he moves around so much more and has become so much friendlier and confident than he was youtu.be/Of3jK-Y16mM

That is so AWESOME!! He looks so happy!! I love it, NTG! Beyond well done, it's brilliant!
I keep looking at the photo and thinking . . . the effect of perspective just doesn't do justice to the FULL WALL of cages! The far ones look so much smaller than they really are. It must be lovely having them all downstairs!

Derek looks lovely and spritely in the video Wall of cages looks great You now have a very quick and easy way of judging all visitors to your house I found that most people can be divided into interested, non-plussed or horrified.

Honestly the wall looked intimidating at first but - a bit like a bigger TV - you do get used to it 😂 Liam calls it The Prison Block Yeah he's so lively in there, I was a little worried about how happy he was in the front bedroom as for some reason he just sat in one spot for hours, not really wanting anything to do with anyone. That was until he decided to have a good daily hopping match with Benji. Having him down here makes me think that he really just thrives in a busy area with plenty going on. I'm happy with all of them really, even Gizmo seems a lot less grumpy on the mornings than he was. Benji has become a little escape artist though and likes to jump out the top of the cage to the floor when you open it

YIKES!! Clearly they are all quite happy to be in the thick of things!! Benji is going to keep you on your toes! I'm sure you've had those hair raising moments, as pictured above . . . though . . . do you really have blue hair?

They are lucky little dudes to have such a wonderful home & human slaves.
Love the wall of cages (it's just like our front room lol) What are your future plans for when they're all together? Will you be joining the cages together so they have access to all 3 at once?

Haha randomname that's exactly what I was thinking, a group of piggies and a pair of buns and it'd really start to resemble yours 😅 got my work cut out with three cages though so that's not going to happen! The plan for now is to see if they'll introduce, if they will then I'll combine the far left and middle cages, if not then I'll combine the middle and far right once Sherlock & Watson are no longer with us. Whether or not we'll go to three combined cages remains to be seen, I definitely want no more than two "groups" of animals as I don't feel I can give them as much. But Liam isn't keen on the idea of more degus so even if we introduce them, I don't want any more chins and I'd be somewhat reluctant to keep rats so unless I can change his mind it might happpen at some stage *shrugs* Aand DC, I'm definitely not daring enough to go for blue hair
