I wouldn't really recommend the JR Farm mix feeds for degus unless they're the grainless versions. Unfortunately they are really heavy on the grains and have a terrible calcium to phosphorus ratio which is implicated in dental disease. For the main feed as well you want pellets to try and discourage selective eating which could mean that they are getting a deficiency in their diet.

What's a good place that sells good for them. Like a herb mix. Someone recommended a rat rations I think. And they just sell seeds

Ratrations sell chinchilla and degu complete versele laga pellets which are well received, they also sell a range of herbs and flowers such as dandelion, parsley stalks, raspberry leave, blackberry leaves, chives etc which can be mixed into a forage blend for them as well as seeds. If you look at deguworld.proboards.com/thread/8772/safe-plants-herbs-leaves-consumption it will give you some ideas for homemade forage mixes which should keep them happy and content.

If you translate the ingredients into what the contain, you can see why that is not a good food. Remember that starch gets broken down into sugar when the body digests it. Many vegetables are relative high in sugar, especially root vegetables (which are designed to store sugars for the plant) and grain-seed vegetables like corn Wheat=starch=sugars extruded corn flour=starch=sugar wheat flakes=flattened wheat=starch=sugar popped wheat=wheat=starch=sugar carrots=sugar beetroot=sugar corn=sugar
So, overall, this mix is very high in starch and sugar. You especially want to stay away from foods that contain wheat and corn as major ingredients.

Very, very occasionally. I find them way too expensive.

I've used it before, most of the mixes are OK but it's pretty poor value for money compared to hansemanns and the likes as it's so expensive. Have you had a look through this thread? Some of us have reviewed quite a few different items, including woodlands, hansemanns and rat rations mixes as well as the JR farm herb only ones available from zooplus deguworld.proboards.com/thread/15657/bought-herb-leaf-flower-mixes

Yup yup!! We've been there! Don't worry . . . it takes time, and the learning curve is seriously steep, but you will soon be putting this together and totally helping others with what you have learned!

If you want to get some stuff from Zooplus, you could try the Versele Laga chin & degu complete (but be warned they might not like it), you could also get JR Farm grainless guinea complete (you can get some similar quad pellets in PAH). They do some forage that is worth getting on this page www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/snacks_supplements/natural_plant_snacks dandelion, green oats, ribwort and garden herbs all worth trying, they also do dandelion root and some different hays. That should get you started.

It wasn't until I found this site that I adjusted my goo's diet so we have all been there trying to find out what is the best diet for them. Zooplus do have very good forage as mentioned and we personally buy all of the forage: dandelion, green oats and garden herbs and my lot love them. Brought Ribwort once but it didn't go down that well and it kept sticking in my fingers but always worth a go as all goo's are different. The range they have is good value I feel but yeah the farm feast isn't a good choice.

Small and infrequent pieces of hazelnut, Brazil nut, almond, are fine, but avoid peanuts.
