Critical Care, according to the packaging, should be mixed and fed, but not stored. If it's kept in an airtight container, is there any medical or scientific reason why it can't be kept overnight? I don't particularly want to taste it

If I get a refusal I sometimes leave it covered at room temperature (fairly cool) for a few hours. I was thinking it contained probiotics which would be slowed down if you refrigerate, but it turns out Oxbow removed the probiotic a few years ago.

I keep it in the fridge overnight if there's some gone to waste and just add a bit of warm water to it the next day.
It's basically not recommended to keep it at room temp as it's a breeding ground for fungus with it being mainly liquid.

I've mixed it up and then kept the extra in the fridge until the next meal, and overnight as well. No problems from doing that. Also did that with my own extras mixed in--ground dried peas, ground seeds, etc. No problems. Refrigerate promptly so nothing has a chance to start growing.
Anything that had been given to them and then sat out a few hours because they didn't feed it got tossed. But freshly mixed stuff always got refrigerated. Sometimes I'd mix up the whole day's worth, so then I could just pull out the portion I needed for meal times.
