So hi guys! I've had my oldest girl Elle, for almost two years, and shortly after adopting her, she gave birth to my other girl Cesza, along with two other boys. Long story short, two years have passed, boys have been adopted, and Cesza stayed home, now i think i should add another family member, i have enough space and resources so why not. Pup's dad is actually Cezsa's brother from the same litter. Do you have any advice for introduction, i have zero experiance with it, since my two girls are mother and daughter. All advices are appreciated.

It's been 18 days, and she has finally arrived. Since she is tiny (5 weeks old) and still needs comfort, i tried introducing them in and unknown place for all of them once she settled, so in a about a day. In an unknown place older degu loved her immediately, and started grooming her, the younger one (daughter of older degu and aunt to the baby) was sniffing her behind and following her around. My cage is built in a way that it cant be separated, but i took another cage and put it very close to them so they can see her, and smell her. Im worried about younger degu's behavior since she got snappy at her a few times. I hope she gets used to it. Older one on the other hand, acts like she was here all her life.

At five weeks, it sounds like mum has already adopted her! Keep persevering. On the two occasions I have introduced young pups, I put them in a neutral area. They instantly bonded, so they suffered the car journey home in the same carry case and have been together ever since!

Im so glad to hear that! Im just worried about Cesza, she was rotten spoiled since birth, and has tried to attack baby a few times. I honestly hope she let's go of that temper 😁

Hi there,
We adopted a pup years ago at around 11 weeks and the 2 girls we put her with took her in straight away with no problems. As all goo's are different Cesza sounds like she needs more time to get used to the idea! We have had plenty of spoilt girls in our house too lol. Hopefully the introduction will be successful, the only thing to be aware of however is that your little pup will go through the adolescent stage so this will be another crucial point of how the dynamics of the group change. It will be another testing time for all involved but one stage at a time lol. 5 weeks is very young, could I ask how you got your new pup?

You are so right, she needed her time and now she protects her niece like she has been there forever. They even slept together in their bed! I've adopted her from my friend, the original time for adoption was supposed to be at 6 weeks, but my friend was moving to another town for college. Baby was already eating her solids without problem and drinking her water independently, and mom stopped breastfeeding them around that time.

Sounds like you've had a successful introduction! Now, of course, we need to see some photos of them happily living together

They are all gorgeous, so happy it has worked out quickly and young Cesza was entirely allowed to stamp her feet for a day or two. At least your pup now has 2 females who can nurture her and teach her the ways of a goo! Have you picked a name for pup yet?
