Ah also wish Pets at home would be more helpful! Don't we all pet shops in general have a lot to answer for since they often encourage impulse buying which is never a good thing when it comes to pets. Combine that with the bad advice they give out and it's a bit of a disaster

Ok so the meet went well!
George was chasing Peppa and sniffing his bum, and Peppa was running away. I was ready with my water spray!
I separated them again after about 5 mins, as I was nervous! Lol!
Going to try again in a couple of hours, as the second cage is going to really going to stress whoever is in there! It’s like a little prison!

Hi cheese,
Without confusing you more, don't be in to much of a rush to seperate again after re-introductions. Unless they go in for a death roll or start snacking and cause bleeding. Degu's do bleed alot too even such a small cut can cause alot of blood! Degu's will chitter and drop their tails, put their bottoms close to the ground while they walk around each other (kind of like a little dance) and even box fight during introductions. This is normal and wont necessary mean it is going badly. Once they start using their back legs to hit each other across the floor this is when its starting to get serious. As you have recognised they are very very complicated and it takes awhile to become familiar with their behaviour. I have had so many re-introductions, some worked quickly, some took time and some ended up with me in casualty wishing I hadn't got in the way lol. We have all been where you are now and pets@home are always in the mix. About 4 years ago I rang every branch to where I live to find a girl pup and only one branch said they had a girl, we went to get 'her' and the next day I looked and found we had been sold a boy so with selling very inadequate cages and mis-sexing they cause alot of trouble for us owners. We should have a pets@home warning emoji on here!

Oh they were death rolling! I sprayed them with water to separate them, and picked one up!
I have realised George is the aggressor, Peppa was just sniffing and ignoring. I am going to pick up a new cage today, for the second one.
And when they are ready to be together again, I’ll be getting a cage suitable for two.
