I've moved into my first home yay! I now have so much storage and space I don't know what to do with it all! I can't believe how much stuff we had crammed into a one bed apartment.... Its made me realise why we were so unhappy and frustrated there, we simply out grew it. Goos are settling in OK, the usual jitters to be expected but they are adapting well and have been very peaceful today while I have been the crazy unpacking cleaning lady Its made me want to see how other people store their degu stuff, as I'm sure like us you have accumulated loads of it! Here is my new storage setup in my utility room, the play pen is also folded up to the side but I think it is out of shot. the grey washing up bowl on the side is full of sand... I had a big tub for it the same as what I have the nuggets in in the bottom cupboard... But it dropped and cracked a few days before the move going to get another one next time I'm in The Range.

I have a cupboard in the kitchen, but also various sacks of Hansemann in the spare room. This will be changing by the weekend as I rearrange the room.
One thing I have learnt is to keep the foodstuffs in airtight containers. After my moth infestation, I am very strict. I occasionally have to nag my mum, because she often leaves the seed tub open.

I have a single narrow kitchen cupboard next to the cage in the living room - if that makes sense! I store hay under the cages together with all the spare toys etc.
I'm in the process of sorting it all out and into a larger cupboard as I've run out of room in the little one. Really useful 33 litre boxes are great for their forage but sadly won't fit in the cupboard or underneath the cages. I can't keep it in another room because of the damp.

I had all mine so neat now I have a big storage box with stuff just dumped in it. Tubes old feed they refuse to each chains clips an old wheel for no reason and a bit of vynel no idea why. Then my feed is stored all neat on top of the cage with all my meds for little man and basil and the scales and hamster cage and travel case... hmmm I have more than I thought ... spring clean soon lol.
I was debating getting a stack of those cheap plastic draws but not sure yet

Mine was all dumped in one big canvas box before too, could never find anything, there would always be spillages of some kind.

NTG can attest I'm a big fan of the really useful boxes - each Aventura cage (3 of them) has 4 boxes stacked on top. I put nuggets, forage mixes, hay (except the hay bale) & toys in them. I use clip & lock small containers to hold seeds, nuts etc & they're in one of the really useful boxes. I like that it keeps the floor free. I have a metal bin for the 20kg bags of sand I buy, & I put the 3 big bales of hay on the solid area on the back of the guinea pig run. The 20kg bags of bedding are stored in the rabbit shed on top of their hutch until I open them, then they go with the hay on the guinea pig run. Part of my OCD is organising & labelling, so I quite enjoy my storage arrangements I picked up a good tip on the rabbit forum the other day. If you buy big hay bales (10kg+) you can get a hay bag from horse suppliers pretty cheap. It's waterproof & breatheable so keeps hay in better conditions than the plastic it's usually wrapped in, plus it's easier to access when it's compacted. I haven't been able to afford one yet, but I will get a couple eventually.

You'll have it filled in no time, MissC! We have a 4x2x2' cupboard under the cage, 3 shelves about 1m long each, some cube storage which is 6 cubes, then there is some overflow hamster stuff and odd bits in the under stair cupboard, and then upstairs there is the sack of fitch, and 2 sacks of hand picked forage, oh, and the sack of aubiose in the shed. claire I have one of those plastic drawer sets, I find it super annoying because every other time I pull a drawer out one of the legs comes apart, it's pretty rubbish.

Probably going to get clippy boxs of different sizes and just stack things depending on how often I use them
