Hi all,
I’m looking for a recommendation for a metal carry case for 2 degus. One big enough for them to travel for 5 hours.
We currently have a plastic one which is fine for short trips but we will be taking them on a longer trip soon so thought it be best to get an all metal case.
I don’t really want to do any DIY and have seen some bird travel cases which could work if we put some flooring down to cover the mesh floor.
Any recommendations would be great!
Thank you, Emma

I know for a fact that a two storey lazy bones won't fit in a mini. 5 hours is quite long but a single storey lazy bones would work or a thickets if you have the storage space for it For 2-3 hours my pair are happy enough in an 84L really useful box with a heat pad, cardboard tubes and plenty of food though

I bought a wire cat carrier. I did have to put a board in the bottom and around the sides to create tray for substrate (you can always just ask someone to cut it and just slot it in), but it works really well. Squidgy has spent eight hours in it on a return journey, and had another two join him for the return leg. My big three have also spent several hours in it when I had to dismantle and steam their cage and toys after seed moths took over. Not a squabble at all, but I think they understood what was going on.

www.metalcote.co.uk/These are the carriers, available from many pet shops, and in different sizes. Order without a plastic tray to save a few pennies, as you won't want one!

These look perfect! And bar spacing in all sizes is small enough for them? Thank you so much!
