Just thought i'd introduce myself i'm a newbie to this forum i have four male degus almost a year old had them from 8wks old. They still seem wary of coming onto my hand but they're fine with taking food out of my hand. I'll often get freddie that's most dominant degu will jump on and off my shoulders i have them in a tank now as they chewed holes in their other home. it's spacious has levels and shelving a cargo net and tunnels. It took me a couple of months for them to trust me but i worked hard at it and they're less jumpy. If anyone has any tips on getting them to be more trusting i'd appreciate it

Welcome to the forum, Scarlett. I'm sure some members will be along shortly with taming tips. My best tip is to find a treat they can't resist, preferably something tiny that they have to stay on your hand to eat.

Do you have a secure play pen yet scarlet. Just sit in it with them and let them come to you. Once they approach give them a rice puff or sunflower seed they will learn to associate you with treats and I found letting them come to me on their terms built trust Sounds like your doing things fine though. I have 3 one still doesnt like strokes at 2 yrs old

Hello Scarlet!! Welcome to the forum!!
Finding that special treat that they absolutely cannot resist is a MASSIVE aid to taming! What kinds of treats have you used with them so far?
