Good Afternoon This is my first post unfortunately not in the best circumstances. I had 2 Degu's a grey one called Geo and Brown Degu called Basil. Unfortunately after a short illness Basil died last night I don't want Geo to be alone and at this stage I have a new job and am unable to give him the attention he deserves. I hope someone can give him all I can't at this point and is willing to take him in, preferably with another Degu as he needs company. I am willing to travel anywhere in west Yorkshire to re home. I don't want to take him to a pet centre or anything like that, I just cant do that to him. Please Help if you can Joel

Hi Joel, I'm so sorry to hear about Basil.
Could you please give us more details about Geo? Age? Is he hand tamed? Is he used to free time outside the cage etc?
This information will help when it comes to finding him a new home.

Hi Joel, I'm so sorry to hear about Basil. Could you please give us more details about Geo? Age? Is he hand tamed? Is he used to free time outside the cage etc? This information will help when it comes to finding him a new home. Hi sorry yes I was abit all over the place writing that. He is approx 3 years old hand tamed he likes to sit on my shoulder and munch treats. Basil was the shy one of the two who didn't like to be touched as much. They both are used to free time outside the cage, my living room is approximately 20 feet by 25 feet so alot of space to run about in always had their wheel near by aswel as they seemed to run in that more even outside the cage. I was having them out probably 5 or 6 nights a week for an hour or so. But this month with my new job been 2 or 3 times. Thank you for the response

Hello Ursadraconis! I am so very sorry for your loss and the difficulties that make it so hard to keep your remaining degu, Geo with you along with a new companion for him. I hope a beautiful home with excellent care givers will soon be found for him.

Hi joal
I would just like to ask is he soft towards other degus or is he more the dominant degu? And can other degus catch the illness your other one had?
