None of the wooden products that I see at the pet store state what kind of wood they're actually made out of, and I can't seem to find anything online. I bought a Prevue Hendryx wood ledge that's made out of "natural wood/plywood" it doesn't smell like pine or anything, but to be safe I wrapped it in fleece because my boys don't seem to be fleece chewers. Does anyone know from experience if the prevue ledge is safe to chew? or any of the common living world, etc products?

The prevue ones are made of plywood but which type of wood the ply is made from is anyone's guess. Either way they aren't suitable for chewing as ply is multiple thin sheets of wood glued together, often with nasty chemicals that aren't good when ingested. I've used a lot of the living world products, don't know what the wood is but they tend to like to strip the bark off and leave it at that in my experience. No one else has reported any issues from using their products either You can usually find ebay sellers selling solid wood accessories that they make themselves, usually they're kiln dried pine or plywood but you can ask them and they should be able to tell you exactly what they use!

Am I right in thinking any wooden parrot toys are safe? I usually just get mine from the degu section at pets at home for convenience. So far only parrot you I used was a rope but been tempted by the big one with bells on 😋

I buy the huge parrot toys from the Range, never had any issues - just wish they were cheaper at £13 each - I need two to kit out my cage each month. I've found with the colder weather and introduction of snuggle safes, the chewing has slowed down somewhat recently - they are all being lazy bums (saves me money though!)
