Hi everyone... Since the last month I0ve wrote here there's been so many changes... One of them is that I bought an enormous new cage (photos in the future) and a new degu... We keep separed of the other twoo. We put in the tub bath and seem ok, and today after two weeks we put together... Disaster! The litte guy (Sam has 1 month) started to scream and runaway and finally he decided to play dead in a corner and don't react when Sancho y Panza aproachs. They didn't fight or anything violent. The big goos didn't chase the little, or fight or anything. My husband and I are worried about the little goo ¿we should separate again? ¿It's posible that now are incompatible? Sooo many doubts! And Sam (the little) is in a corner...

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Two weeks is nowhere near long enough for a face to face introduction. Please read the introduction section deguworld.proboards.com/thread/17618/introductions-fighting-quick-guide as it will give you more information. Have you checked the little one for injuries etc? You need to separate them now, and keep them separate for a lot longer.

Luckley there were no fight so no they don't have any injuries. Now they are separated but the little don't move and don't do anything since two hours ago... I hope he is only scared.

It sounds like he could have gone into shock.
Put him on a heat pad to keep him warm, warm not hot, and cover him with a cloth so that it's nice and quiet, and please call the vet.

He is now in the vet in bad condition. Is in severous shock and hipothermic and the vet doesn't know if he will pass de night. Also the vet faund three injuries but he didn't did anything (only med to avoid infection) until the degu reacts. We will not know anything until tomorrow or if the worst happens this night.
We feel awfull...

I am so sorry!! Degus can inflict nasty wounds so quickly that you can't help but wonder how it happened. I'm so glad you got him to the vet. I pray he recovers!
Sending you hugs!!

Unfortunately these things do happen. I'm so sorry.
Is there any update on the little fellow?
