Recently I purchased a hay ball and home apple sticks from a Chinese website Aliexpress. I have only ordered other things and not pet supplies. I do not want to harm the degus. I am ok with taking the tiniest risk. Non EU countries might put a spray or chemical on them.
i don't know. It would be great if I could use them as they were cheap.
also, in the reviews, there are pictures of degus and chinchillas eating or biting them. I don't think it killed them.
thank you

If they are marketed for animals, they should be OK. If in doubt, feed a small quantity first.
Alibaba is basically a group website for giving Chinese manufacturers the possibility to enter the western market, even though they might not have the infrastructure to do so independently. I've ordered some things from there before.
When you say apple sticks, do you mean apple wood? If dried sticks of fruit, try to avoid,as the sugar is concentrated in dried fruit (and the reason why some human diets fail!).
