Hi all Names Tasha... Recently adopted a trio of male, baby Degus named Bowser, Mario & Luigi... Fell absolutely in love with them first sight... I think they would agree... (I hope!) since they are absolutely spoilt.... Always willing to learn more on how to look after my boys 😁 I ended up adopting them from Pets At Home... I found out that the previous owners had already bought two female Degus from there, but they didn't know that one was pregnant.. The mother ended up having four babies, three boys and one girl. They ended up keeping the girl but had to get rid of the boys, and here we are today.... I couldn't just leave them or seperate any of them they were all way too cute Not one single regret! (Except maybe the mess they keep on making of my desk!)

Welcome to the forum - you are right, they are absolutely adorable!
I would recommend that you read through the beginners guides here for advice on feeding etc.
But I'm afraid I have to give you some bad news from the start. Judging from the photograph, you have them in a thickets cage. This is the cage that Pets at Home always recommend and I'm afraid to say that it isn't suitable for degus, its just way too small. I would encourage you to complain to Pets at Home if they sold you this cage and demand a refund as you will need to purchase a much larger cage in the very near future.
I would recommend either the Aventura huge metal cage or the Liberta Explorer (Pets at Home do sell the Liberta, but at almost twice the price you will pay anywhere else)
Please don't panic, this is a common problem and we see it almost every time someone adopts from Pets at Home, they did the same thing with me a couple of years ago. They will be fine until you can get something bigger, but in the long term, small cages will lead to fighting and injuries as they compete for space which just isn't there.
It takes time to get everything together so please don't worry.
Can you tell me what your are feeding them?

Thank you for telling me about the cage! I omly got it temporary with them while I was looking for a bigger, multi-tiered one.... So thats my next investment for them! As I type this they're squeeking away down my ear wanting me to give them a bit of love and attention...... Also their names are Mario, Luigi and Bowser, kept their original ones I'm feeding them on the Supreme Science food... I've also got the Pets At Home stuff just in case they get hored.. I also sprinkle a little bit of the foraging stuff over it

They need unlimited forage as they should be eating more forage than pellets. If you look at the section on diet it will give you some ideas on different types of forage. Also check out www.ratrations.co.uk or jr farms as both do great forage which you can mix yourself according to their tastes, and they are much cheaper than p@h.
