Hi everyone i hope this is the right place to post...but just thought i should introduce myself to the forum. Ive been here a couple of times as a vistor over the past two weeks, since my boyfriend agreed that i could have a pair of degus...and finally decided to sign up to the forum and beginning posting.
My name is Samm (short for Samantha) and im 21. I live in Ipswich, which is in Suffolk, UK. I work full time as a pet care assistant/tempory supervisor (long story) in a garden centre. Although we dont sell degus where i work now, the old pet store i worked at dabbled in them for a small amount of time, and this is were i was first introduced to the species. I must add that since finding this website and doing my own research ive realised that we did not look after the pairs (and the resulting babies we had!) very well. But at the time all of the assistants where going on the knowledge of only one person (who obviously didnt know much either!).
As of yet i do not actually own any Degus but i am hoping to very soon, i have however owned many animals....I used to breed lop earred rabbits but unfortuatly along with the occasional guniea pig breeding i done too i have had to stop due to work commiments and also now not living at home anymore (dont have much green space in a one bedroom flat lol!).
Well i hope i havent blabbed on to much, and i hope to be chatting to you all very soon, cant wait to hear all your degu stories as well as advise to a first time degu owner!
