Ooh, that sounds like another good meeting! To me, the escaping is a bit like disinterest, as in can't be bothered to fight any more. Not sure what the others will say.

In the wild when there is a fight between larger animals for mating rights over a harem of females, the losing male capitulates, or leaves, and the winner stays. So . . . this is going in the right direction, but the problem is that you want them to be friends and bonded, so more than capitulation you want to see submission. I think it is good for the most part. So . . . keep it up and hopefully the submission part will soon be seen!

So yesterday's fight ended with bloodshed - Nyota's missing a chunk of skin from behind his left arm, and Best has the most ridiculous split lip. Neither are showing signs of infection - I don't know whether it was premonition or consequence, that the first meet after I've bought Hibiscrub, it becomes necessary :/
They're both sulking atm- I think it FBOD'd and I startled them but hadn't twigged they'd started a FBOD, so didn't separate, so then they went for it good style...

Mutter, mutter, mutter!!! So sorry they are being so obstinate! Also sorry they have hurt each other, but it doesn't sound terribly nasty at least.

I think they'll get over it, although I'm going to find a new meeting box as a precaution. Best kept wiping his mouth with his foot and it has little bloody paw prints on the bottom. I don't think that's a helpful environment

Oh, that's such a shame after the progress you've made with them! A fat lip sounds like a Saturday night pub brawl...... At least you're still sounding positive

Still going... still just chucking them together 2-3x a week to see what happens... They don't seem to be getting closer to getting together, but equally my nerves are getting better at holding out on them so they're chilling out a bit more as well

That's good news. It always amazes me how much animals pick up on how we are feeling and how much it affects them.

Based on the regular updates you've been messaging me, I'd say their level of interaction and disinterest in beating each other up (whisker whisker sniff sniff whisker whisker tail tail) is very positive!
