Ok, I couldnt resist anymore, and so on Wednesday night my fiance and I travelled 20 miles to collect a 15 week old male chinchilla by the name of George, and bring him home to a new cage, set up next to the degu condo. George, as you will see by the thread title was re-named Mungo, and settled in nicely. The degus spent the night clammouring to see the strange looking giant living next door, but Mungo was rather un-interested. My parents were round to visit within an hour, and fell in love with him instantly, as have all of us. He is the most wonderful creature I have ever met. So gentle and friendly. I am hoping, that by following my tried and tested Degu introduction methods with the degus and Mungo, I will soon have a large cage with everyone in together. I am keeping a diary of how the initial introduction of Mungo goes with the degu gang, and will be uploading it onto the main degu website. let me know what you think, and i will keep you all posted with how things go! To read the diary, please visit www.myhomezone.co.uk/degus and click on the chinchilla diaries.

mungo got his name before we got him. I was at a garden centre with my cousin, and we were looking at wooden model ducks. Each one had a tag saying dcuk, and a name, Mungo was on one of the ducks!!!
As for prices, never get one from a big store such as in the UK Pets at Home, as they are grossly over priced. a grey Chin should cost up to £30, while the less common black or white chins will be more expensive.
