Hi, I bought my new chinchilla on thursday, he is about 3 months old standard grey male. I put him into his new cage and have left him alone to get settled in but he still seems very freaked - he makes loud sqeaking noises (i read these mean agitation) and hasn't slept during the day (even though he looks like he is tired). In the morning we can see he has been all over the cage and he has eaten but doesn't seem to have drunk alot. I was wondering if putting a sheet over the cage in the day might help him calm down or if anyone has any other ideas? Thanks Liz (and Widgit)

i put a blanket over the top of my cage, mainly because they are in the living room.
