Does degu need a salt wheel? If needs, why? I´m not sure about that, but I haven´t give it...

Do you mean the round thing in the top right hand corner? I think thats a toy or a chewing block, to wear their teeth down but im not sure

Yes I mean. It looks very muck like salt wheel, calcium looks differnt.

I have a mineral block in the cage that they chew and gives them everything they need, only problem is when Dillan decides to run off with it! lol

Most of the stuff I have read has said that salt is a No-No. Our guys also have a mineral stone (shaped like an ice cream cone ). They love it! ^_^

I was advised to have a salt block for my degus from the local pet store I bought them from. I have never seen them lick it!

i had one left over from my hamster, but i dont think moose wants or needs it so i just took it out....
