Hiya I'm Jade, Meet Hamish and Baldrick! We got them 2 months ago and they are the cutest! We got them from p@h and immediately got a better cage (Little Zoo Xtrail) and now they love exploring their new home and fun toys. Baldrick however has now got a bald patch on his nose and I am worried about it. He chews the bars a lot so I don't know if it's rubbed away? He seems fine other than this, still eating, running in his wheel and playing with Hamish. Some input and advice would be much appreciated. Should I be concerned about the bar chewing? Or anything more serious? We'll try and attach pictures.

Hi, the best way to upload is go upload it to a photo hosting site, like photobucket, then to post the link. The forum itself has very limited storage.
And welcome!!!

Welcome to the forum.
My bar chewer has a bald patch on his nose too. He developed it not long after I changed their cage to one with a slightly smaller gap. As long as the skin isn't broken or inflamed it should be fine.

Yep! Exactly the same place as Dixie's bald patch. His started off that size and then got smaller as he got used to the bars.
Just keep an eye on it.

As long as the skin underneath doesn't start getting pink, inflamed, flaky, etc., all is good.

It can be difficult to avoid bar chewing once they get into the habit. Sometimes you can block off favourite chewing bars, weave cardboard between the bars, and offer lots of natural wood in lots of format (blocks, twigs, branches, logs all different sizes) to try to reduce it.
