recently rumble's tail developed a bump, about halfway down. at first it was very small, almost looking like some dirt clumped on his tail. a few days ago i noticed it getting a little bigger, and today it's even bigger. it more resembles a big zit or a wart now. i've poked it, and it's hard, and attached (i.e. not something stuck to his tail). i was too afraid to do anything else (like try to pop it) for fear of hurting his tail and causing it to fall off. is this the same as those tumors that appear near a degu's rectum that can be relieved by including soy in the diet, or is this something else where i need to locate a vet?

it was weird... it felt & looked the same as his skin, and wouldn't budge when i brushed my finger against it, but i guess it couldn't have been that bad if it disappeared so quickly. maybe it really was a zit and rumble just popped it himself!

Maybe a small abscess that opened. Does their appear to be any odd spot in that location.

that's the weirdest thing, i looked all over his tail and it's like it was never there. there's not an open wound or anything.

degus do get spots occasionally, or similar, so it could well have been that, and he sorted it himself! Plus a degu heals very quickly, so that is likely the reason you cant find anything now.
