We bought some cheap and cheerful cardboard "houses" last week and in 2 of our cages, they lasted about half an hour, but the younger boys seem less interested. We thought maybe we could stuff it with hay and put a nice smelly treat inside to encourage them, but we're not sure what would be best. Any sugestions welcome. :-)

I would go for a piece of nut. Sounds fun

I was thinking nut as well. If you were to use a walnut or pecan and break it into bits, about a 1/4 of a finger nail in size, then they will have more to find without it being a huge overall amount. Do tell us if they take the bait.

Sorry about the delayed reply, the nuts worked a treat! Used some chopped walnut, just a little pinch, sprinkled in the hay and they went nuts for it.
