Edward
Your poor little degu needs to see a vet immediately, please take him.
Perhaps the moderators will create a new thread for you.

Thank you but if I had enough for a vet I would use him for myself

I'm sorry Edward, this is an awful situation, but if you have a chinchilla with a suspected broken neck or shoulder and you can't afford vet treatment then you need to get him to a rescue or RSPCA (or equivalent) or PDSA that can provide medical care, even if this means surrendering him.
What country are you in, perhaps we could help you work out where you could take him?

I doubt it. We received the degu mother from a friends daughter we only had a male degu that was to be killed from a pet store for being too old. Lithuania is just starting to rescue people left to die on the street. We spent a fortune on a 15 year old dog and had her put to sleep because I was unable to walk and just got out of intensive care needing nurse while wife worked. We prayed asked God to kill or heal degu starting running around with a crooked neck he seems happy his family plays with him and he plays with them. I really don't think the vet would do anything but kill him and if he seems to be in pain I could do that easier than vets do anyway. For now we will watch and see. What i needed to know is any herbs that make them sleepy and relaxed so I could examine him closely.

Ah...yes I can see that veterinary care is much more difficult for you than for us in the United Kingdom; I know how Latvia has been and Lithuania is on a similar path.
I wonder if hops (- scientific name Humulus lupulus - that beer is made with) might be relaxing; or one of the Chamomiles - Matricaria chamomilla or hamaemelum nobile.
But as always I have to say, I am not a vet, and I am only suggesting this to Edward specifically as he does not have access to the sort of veterinary care that most of us do.

I am sorry for the injury to your young degu. I am so sorry for your personal health, and the difficulties that you and your family are in. I cannot imagine all that your circumstances involve, but I know the Father and will be praying for you all, degu as well.

If you have access to homeopathic remedies ..... Bach flower essences have rescue remedy for trauma that may help a bit.
Otherwise it's a wait and see - good sign if he's still moving around, eating and drinking. I would take out the wheel, and any levels he needs to jump up and down, keep him warm and try to encourage resting.
If you have a smaller cage or something to move him into that could work as well (trusting that they are not still nursing.
