I've been away for ages, lots of things have happened but settled down a bit now. Anyway, I'm happy to announce there's a (human ) baby on the way! So everything has gone by in a bit of a haze. The sad news is, Apollo suddenly passed away over christmas. I've had a lot of trouble coping with it, there were no signs. She was fine the day before, that night she started to behave really weirdly and got a bit slow. I told myself to see the vet if she's still like that the next morning but she never got that far. She took her last breaths very early the next morning, in my arms. I have no idea what happened. There was no fighting, she was eating and drinking like normal so I don't suspect any dental problems. We've buried her that night in our favourite park. Especially Erebus had a rough time, continuously crying and just generally looking sad. She's fine now but it was absolutely heartbreaking. The vet declared the others healthy, but what happened to Apollo will remain a mystery. She's very dearly missed. I hope to be active again here, especially now I'm almost on mat leave so I'll have lots of spare time. I'm building a new cage for my three girls as well, it's coming along really nicely so I can't wait to share some photos!! Melissa Erebus, Persephone and Iris

Great to see you back, Swiffer! Many congratulations on your pregnancy, I don't think you have long to wait now, do you? I'm so sorry to hear about Apollo, it's such a shock and hard to get your head around when they slip away so suddenly from being perfectly healthy. Look forward to seeing the new cage

Welcome back, and congratulations on your soon arriving baby. It is wonderful to have you back with us again!
I am so sorry about Apollo, it is such a shock and a deep grief when they just suddenly go. I am thankful that you are doing better now, and that Erebus is also recovering from the shock of loss and grief.
